The girls who dreamed of stars together now met on the stage of stars. IZ*ONE's Chaeyeon and ITZY's Chaeryeong won the Main prize and the Discovery of the Year award respectively during the '30th Seoul Music Awards' which was held on the 31st of last month.

Chaeyeon, who had a short but pleasant meeting at the backstage before the award ceremony flashed a bright smile, saying, "In fact, we don't even have much chances to meet during music programmes, but to be able to meet each other like this in an award ceremony makes me glad and happy" Chaeryeong also put on a smile, saying, "We didn't have the opportunity to meet in 2019 and early 2020, so we shared stories via video calls with a heartfelt mind, but it feels honourable to be able to see each other at an award ceremony."

They are now members of popular girl groups and active as the representative sisters of the entertainment industry, but they surely understand each other's situations and worries better than anyone else, because they have been longing for the same spot as they shed sweat and dashed together. Chaeyeon said, "I believe we can communicate well because we share the same consensus. I think we are getting closer and our understanding towards each other have gotten broader. Our care and dependence towards each other have grown too."

As Chaeryeong say "During last year's award ceremony, I had goosebumps watching IZ*ONE come out to the thrust stage. Their fans cheered loudly, at that time, we (ITZY) didn't have an official official lightstick while they (IZ*ONE) are a group with many members, and compared to seeing us, it was a different feeling," she gave strength, adding, "My older sister is always the same person as who she was. That side itself is something I learn from a lot. She's a motivation to me, and I always think that I should be like her."

What are the strengths and charms of each other? First, Chaeyeon said, "Unlike me, Chaeryeong is soft and calm. She gives reactions when I speak or do something, and to me, that is her strength," continued by complimenting, "When it comes to charms, it seems to shine on stage. Chaeryeong's soft dance lines and expressiveness is a great charm of hers." Chaeryeong replied with, "My sister has many charms even in private. She is really funny and there is no one as pure as my sister. She is someone who laughs a lot, and she brings as much good energy to the people around her which makes it her strength and charm."

On the other hand, when asked to pick a part of themselves that they have the upper hand in, Chaeyeon pondered for a moment before replying, "experience." Immediately after that, Chaeryeong said, "I think I'm better in that," she then retorts, adding, "I think I'm better in adapting to new situations. My older sister is better at singing and dancing, but when I look back during situations where we're required to exhibit creativeness, I have good wit in that." Chaeyeon expectedly also retorted with, "I've competed on three survival shows," showing a warm image of these realistic sisters.

With sincerity filling their voices, they of course didn't forget their requests to each other's fans. Chaeyeon said, "I hope that you can achieve your dreams slowly, one by one, with brightness and loveliness just the way you are now. Chaeryeong does better with compliments, and she is a nicer kid than me. I hope that you can take care of her and give her a warm hug." Chaeryeong said, "I'm grateful to my older sister's fans because they recognise the person that she is well. Even in real life, she's more transparent than anyone I know, and it would be great if you can continue believing in her and liking her."

When asked what goals they would wish to achieve in 2021, Chaeryeong said, with anticipation, "I will live my best in 2021. This time, I want to be greedy, and whenever there's a chance to, I want to improve by developing myself." "I want to be healthy and develop myself in various ways too," Chaeyeon hoped. Lastly, they both gathered their voices to say, "We hope that everyone stays healthy. Don't get sick, and we hope for all the people we love to be happy. Happy New Year in advance."
