    EYES ON IZ*ONE
Vol 6. Lee Chaeyeon X Miyawaki Sakura
A fateful encounter, stories of these two who rely on each other!

"My dream is to be a radio DJ someday with Saku-chan" - Chaeyeon

"Chaeyeon was the first ever friend I made in Korea. I wanted us to debut together" - Sakura

Attracted to each other because they both have what the other doesn't

Sakura: To me, Chaeyeon is the first ever friend made in Korea! When I first entered A class in Produce 48, I couldn't speak a lick of Korean and failed to keep up with the dance lessons. Chaeyeon approached me and taught me some words and the choreography.
Chaeyeon: I'm the type of person that can't leave behind someone that's struggling, especially Saku-chan who had a look on her face that made me want to help her (laughs).
Sakura: That's probably how troubled I was (laughs). Me, who was active as an idol but felt as if I was lacking in skills, and Chaeyeon, who had enough skills but never had the chance to debut. I believe that we were attracted to each other because we both have what the other doesn't.
Chaeyeon: During the final episode of the broadcast where the members were being finalised, when Saku-chan landed second place and I wasn't chosen yet, she told me, "'I want to debut with Chaeyeon".
Sakura: When the MC asked, "Is there anyone that you wish to share your feelings with right now?", I saw Chaeyeon who had an uncertain look and thought, "Chaeyeon doesn't belong there, she should be on stage with me!".
Chaeyeon: I remember panicking and being really surprised over Saku-chan's words because I was really anxious while waiting for the final results to be announced. But above that, it was a happy moment, so thank you!
Sakura: Even after being a member of IZ*ONE and fulfilling my dreams of debuting together, I still received a lot of help from Chaeyeon who is good in Japanese. Recently she taught me the word 'Ppeonppeonhada' which means shameless. When I looked at my blonde hair in the mirror and jokingly said "There's a doll", Chaeyeon replied with "You're shameless/ppeeonppeonhada" (laughs).
Chaeyeon: Saku-chan was joking around so I wanted to snide back at her (laughs). I'm currently hooked on memorising Japanese words with cute pronunciations, and my current favourite is bun'betsushūshū (waste sorting).
Sakura: Even in the dorms, Chaeyeon would say "Please sort the waste properly!" (laughs).
Chaeyeon: I will continue to study Japanese so that someday I can work as a DJ together with Saku-chan on her radio broadcast in Japan, Saku no ki (Tonight, Under the Cherry Blossom Tree)!
